Raidne (Temporary title) Part I
Sargent "Slaughter" Sloughwitz looked over the bluff, the sun setting behind his section. "This is absolute madness." he said to himself.
"This is PERFECT!" the lady said. Sloughwitz didn't even know her name, but the team referred to her as "Raidne," and odd name for sure.
"How is this perfect?" private Yarrow questioned. "We're on an elevated position where the enemy will be sure to be watching for an approach!"
"Stow that shit, Yarrow!" Sloughwitz yelled.
"No, that's all right." Raidne said, softly. "He's not wrong, if we were fighting your way. Tonight, we fight MY way." she said.
It was late in the evening, and the sun set slowly behind them, casting long shadows down the rocky cliff face.
"What are you going to do, wave your magic wand and make them disappear?" Yarrow said condecendingly.
"No. I'm going to bring them outside and you're going to shoot them, after the sun sets." Raidne said.
Yarrow looked at her. "You gonna take your top off and shake your titties so they come out?"
She slapped him, digging her nails into his cheek. Yarrow fell over. Raidne smiled.
"Fuckin' cunt" Yarrow said under his breath
"I said STOW IT" Sloughwitz barked.
Raidne smiled wider, noticing a few drops of Yarrow's blood on her long nails. She seductively licked the blood off her nails, her eyes shining. "Thanks, tough guy." she said, grinning.
"And YOU..." Sloughwitz said, staring Raidne down. "You agreed to leave the men alone."
"You asked me not to, I never agreed to anything." she said. Yarrow's got it comming.
"What are you gonna do to me, you skinny bitch?" Yarrow exclaimed.
Raidne took off her coat. Her slender, shapely frame was revealed.
She also revealed a pait of folded birdlike wings, which she extended.
The men made startled sounds, and Raidne smiled.
She sang a line from a popular song, staring at Private Yarrow with glowing eyes.
π΅ Step on the glass, staple your tongue. π΅
Yarrow opened his mouth to yell, but not sound came out.
Raidne's wings tucked back on top of her A shirt.
"What the fuck did you do to him?" Sloughwitz interrogated.
"I shut him up. Don't worry, he'll be fine."
Yarrow waved his hands up in the air.
"Are you trying to say you're sorry, silly boy?"
Yarrow nodded enthuastically
Raidne smiled, and gestured subtly. Yarrow coughed. "Jesus." he said, sotto voice.
"I think he'll 'stow it' now." Raidne said
"That's ENOUGH" Sloughwitz barked.
The sun retreated below the sky behind them. The lights inside the compound on the forested ground below lit up as the sky darkened. A full moon rose in the distance.
"It's time" Raidne said.
"Alright men!" Sloughwitz barked. "Ready positions!"
Raidne spread her wings and breathed deeply Looking at Sloughwitz, he nodded.
Raidne sang.
π΅Go with the man to the mountaintop.π΅
π΅And all te way up, I'm only thinking about you, child.π΅
Her voice carried etherally across the night. The men looked at each other, questioningly. Sloughwitz pointed back at the targets.
π΅ Go with the main to the mountaintop π΅
π΅ I want the fire. I want the sweat and the pain, child π΅
A spotter crouched down on his stomach reported back. "The doors are opening. I see two men coming out." he said, quietly.
"Take them out." Sloughwitz said. Rifle shots barked into the night
Two men fell, like puppets with their strings cut.
π΅ You know the way. I know the way, now stop. π΅
Three more men walked slowly out the front door, oblivious to the corpses in front of them.
three more rifle shots sang out into the night. Three more men dropped to the ground.
Raidne's wings stretched out into the night as she sang.
π΅ Don't move, don't breathe π΅
π΅ It's you, you're safe π΅
The last four men from the guard section walked out, still oblivious.
π΅ Hey, who's your daddy? Have your dreams fallen out? π΅
Raidne's voice faltered, and she fell over.
The four men suddenly found their senses, looking around
Four more rifle shots rang out.
